My Dad

Tomorrow January 31st is my dad's birthday. It kinda snuck up on me this year sop I thought I would dedicate my blog to my dad today. I am truly blessed to have a wonderful God fearing man as my dad. My mom and dad divorced when I was 11. At times it was not pretty but I prayed and prayed. I am happy to say my mom and dad have a great elationshil these days much like brother and sister now.

So let me tell you about my dad. When my dad was young he was quite a hellyon. But the Lord changed all that. I do not know the man every one said was a wild and crazy guy. The dad I know is kind and caring. H cares about people and wants to help people. He is a Christ follower. He is a wonderful example of what a Christian man should be. He has always always been there for me for as long as I can remember. I never have to feel bad to ask my dad for help if I need it he has always been there. Of course once in a while the help came with a lecture but it was still there.
He is respectful of others and just an all around great dad. So great I married a man just like him who also loves him like a dad. He is a terrific Pap; my kids and all the other grandkids and great grandkids adore him.

So on this very special day daddy. I just wanted to say I love you always!! No matter how old I get or you get I will always see my self as Daddy's little girl because that is how you have always make me feel!!

With all the love in my heart!!! Happy Birthday Dad!

New Year new beginings...

2011 The new year. A time for new beginnings. Everyone has big aspirations like I am going to loose 50lbs or start exercising 4 times a week, or get a hold of my finances or this or that. I have made those big aspirations before. This year all I want to be is healthy. I could loose some weight. I should start exercising. I should get a better handle on my finances. I could do this or I could do that. All I really want to do this year is be more like Jesus. I want to loving like Him. I want to give like Him. I want to forgive like Him. (Although forgiving does not mean I have to forget, but that is a whole other post.) I want to serve like Him. I want to be the person He wants me to be.
So I will try my very best to be all of the above; the truth is my best is like filthy rags to The Almighty and Powerful God but when he looks at me He looks at me through the blood of His son Jesus Christ. So as I said I will try my best and ask Him for help in my every day. That is the best that I can do in this new year with my new beginning.

Simple Woman's Daily Journal

Brand New year brand new journal entry.

Outside my window The sun is shining. The air is a crisp winter day. Here in SC crisp winter days are about 45 to 50 degrees, as it is today at 11:38 in the morning it is 48 degrees.

I am thinking I should get moving I have a few things to do today.

I am thankful for my family. My husband is truly a wonderful man. He loves me and I am so thankful for that. I have great kids; they married good people. I have wonderful grandchildren. Today is my mom's birthday, today I am also thankful for her.

From the kitchen not a thing.....

I am wearing my pjs..

I am creating ideas for our home. We are doing a fix up the house project.

I am going to start a new job. Orientation starts tomorrow then next week I will be the triage nurse for Hollings Cancer Center.

I am reading Dean Koontz Relentless. I finally finished The Centurion's Wife, it was a very good book. I reccomend to anyone. My daughter in law also read it much faster than me I might add and also liked it.

I am hoping I can see my daughter soon. I miss her. We do talk and skype but I would love a hug from my grandson.

I am hearing the TV in the livingroom.

Around the house I have some laundry to put away, but otherwise the house is calm at the moment. Renovations will start soon. I hope.

One of my favorite things my I Pod. I love it! I use it in my car for my way to work and for long drives. I listen to audiobooks. I just finished Nicholas Sparks 3 weeks with my brother. It is very good and I reccomend.

Well that is it for now I will post more later. I hope this post finds you well and that you make the most of your new year! God Bless!
