It is getting closer

Hello all. As you may know if you follow this blog we are moving from South Carolina to Ohio, somewhere between Marion and Columbus. Yesterday we met with a real estate broker. So my house will be up for sale as of Monday, May 30. They will not be showing the house until next weekend but you will be able to look at the pictures on the web. We were told next weekend is National open Home Weekend so we are hoping that is good for us.
Sometimes it seems to me everything is falling into place and other times it seems as if WHOA it is moving too fast. But strangely I am not anxious or nervous, which if you know me is really crazy. I have "the peace that surpasses all understanding" It has to be from the Lord because I am telling you I am normally not this calm. I normally WORRY about everything! I am totally trusting in the Lord! Somehow I know deep in my soul this is all gonna work out. I'll keep ya posted!

Wonderful Weekend

My son and daughter in law came for the weekend with my two grandsons. Asher who is two and Nate who is 5 months old and both are adorable. Tonight my son had some friends over. It was really great. My friend Carey came too, with her son who is my friends son, and a another couple friends of my son. It was nice to socialize with them and remember old times when they all hung out at my house. All but one of them are married now and are starting families of their own. It was nice to talk about when they were young and the fun at my house with my family.
This is bittersweet though because I start to think about my kids at that age and how much fun we had. Now it is fun with the grands but everyone lives so far away.......

But all in all it was a wonderful weekend!

When God Moves its AMAZING

Kevin and I have been praying to move closer to home since the kids have moved away. That's about 6-8 years. We have no one here. Well my sister lives here but rarely do I see her in fact on holidays my husband and I usually got out to dinner by ourselves. So once the opening came in the mill in Ohio Kevin jumped on it and we prayed. We wanted to move closer to home the mill would make us 2-3 hours away instead of 12. Almost a year later after wanting this it is coming about. As you know Kevin got the job. We are getting ready to make our move. Our house will be up for sale around June 1. Last Thursday I sent an email to a nurse recruiter that was recommended to me about noon. At 2pm I got a phone call it was the nurse recruiter. She started talking to me about the jobs they have. I told her a little bit about my self. She ask me what job I wanted and started talking about me starting to work on July 18. Then she asked me what job I wanted and set up an interview as a formality on June 24. I was absolutely flabbergasted. All I have to say is WOW! When God moves and answers prayers it is amazing.

what do you hope and dream for yourself?

In the 31 minute ministries devotional today the author Renee Swope asked What are your hopes and dreams for your self if money was no object what would you want to be? She quoted
Psalm 139:13 from the NIV which says "For you created my inmost being; knit me together in my mother's womb. She stated that God has made all of us for a purpose. She talked in this devotion how she did not know what her dream was because she had always been what people wanted her to be. We all have hopes and dreams what are yours?
I have figured out what my dreams for my self is with much prayer because I too was a people pleaser. I want to be a Nurse Practitioner who helps women with cancer. I know everyone always talks about breast cancer but I want to help women with GYN cancers like ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, and uterine cancer. There is not much press about these cancers but they are devastating. So once I get the move all done I am in school for two years to get a NP license. Then I can set out on the course God has planned for me to do. I feel He had lead me to this point and put this passion in my heart for these women.

What is your passion? It does not have to be job related. It can be whatever you wish. So what do you wish?

Hodge Podge Wednesday

1. What reveals more about a woman -her refrigerator or her purse?
I think her purse. I have mine all the time and I have everything I need there. I hope its not my refrigerator because I hate to clean that thing.

2. When was the last time you went to the zoo? Where? What's your favorite zoo animals?
I was at the zoo I think it was last summer. We went with my son and his family. My grandson was so fun at the zoo. Our zoo is in Columbia, SC. My favorite animals there are the monkeys. They are always so active.

3. What social issue fires you up?
Teenage sex fires me up. Because parents do not teach their children about sex. Parents say and think "not my child" and the STD rate for teenagers is skyrocketing. Now we have shows on TV that glorify teen pregnancy. Something is wrong with that!

4. Are you a coupon clipper? If so are you extreme?
No I am not, can never find what I need in coupons.

5. What is one of your favorite souvenirs brought back from your travels?
My necklace and earnings from my cruise I just took. They were actually a birthday gift from my husband for my 50th but technically it was bought on vacation.

6. Lemon meringue or key lime?
I would have to say key lime.

7. What is the most beautiful word in any language?
LOVE

8. Insert your own thought here.
My thoughts are all on our future move to Marion Ohio or around there from South Carolina. Stuff like where will we live? What job will I get? IT SNOWS UP THERE!! UGH! I have not had a snowy winter for 15 years since moving here to South Carolina. I can visit my dad and my grandmother more when I move there. Where will we go to church. I am sorry my mind is just a jumble of stuff these days.

I did it

O well folks the cat is out of the bag! I put in a letter of resignation to my job for end of July. Kevin will be going up mid-June. So we a have about 2 weeks to get the house in order to put it up for sale. There is part of me that is FREAKING OUT!!!! But I am OK, I have drugs...Lol!! No but seriously we have been praying for this for over a year. We have wanted to move closer to home and the Lord has answered our prayers. Now Everything has been falling into place and I know this will to. Because this is the Lord's plan for us. We have been here in Charleston, SC for 15 years on July 2.
Now it is time for this chapter to end. We have met many wonderful people here we hope to keep as friends for a very long time even if we are farther away. I hope I have left a good impression here with the people I met, patients I tended and fiends I spent time with.

I will keep you all posted when the Big Change Comes......

Question....Looking for you opinion...on this

My husband got a promotion,YEAH!! But the promotion also consist of a relocation. We live in Charleston, SC now and the new job is in Ohio. That part is OK because Pittsburgh, PA is home for us and we will only be 2 1/2 hours away from home now.
My husband was excited so he posted on Facebook. People started responding. Then those who are friends here with both of us started posting on my Facebook too. My boss who is a friend of mine whom I have known for years, she recently became my boss. So of course she is my friend on Facebook. I did not want her to find out about this on Facebook so I told her about the relocation. The problem is now she is taking me to write a letter of resignation now. problem is I most likely will not be moving until sometime in July. That is more that 6 weeks from now. She said she wants to post the job. My problem is what happens if someone wants MY job! That means I will not have a job before I want to be out of a job. What would you do? Write letter or tell her not yet. I have gotten three emails and a text message from my boss over this.....Help!

Trying to get my Mind off the Boat and back in the real World

My husband and I went on our first cruise last week. I very highly recommend this as a vacation. It is wonderful! We had an advantage since the boat left from our home of Charleston, SC then we sailed to the Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise before so I was skeptical. I thought I would surely get sea sick and it would be awful for me. So I invested in every kind of sea sick medicine known to man. (You see I am the kind of person who gets motion sickness in movie theaters) But I did not need it. I took it the first day just because, but really was fine. The Boat was amazing and of course there are merchants on board from hair stylist to massage therapist to photographers wanting to sell you their services. There were those who had a few much to drink and made fools of them selves, but mainly it was a great experience. The boat had 12 floors! Our room was as big as a hotel room, I think; we did not have a window but that made for some good sleeping in a nice and dark room. We got up in the morning went to breakfast came back to the room to get ready for the day and our bed was made. After dinner at night came back to the room and the bed was turned down with charming towel animals waiting on our bed and chocolate. All our meals were wonderful and food was everywhere from the main dining room to a pizza sop that was open 24/7; drinks such as lemonade, ice tea, coffee, tea, and juices were free part of the package. You did have to pay for sodas and alcohol.
The first port we went to was Nassau Bahama. It was crazy mass of thousands of people in a small space; but we went snorkeling, my first time, it was totally amazing. I was in awe of how great our God is when I saw the brilliance of the sea life and I wondered how could anybody see this beauty and not believe in God! The second day we walked around Freeport Bahama it was hot as Hades; but we still managed to have fun shopping and seeing the sites. (The taxi ride nearly killed me. It was a van filled with 10 people it had windows but they did not open and the driver put the air conditioner on. Every few minutes I would get a breeze of cool air. Then the driver started coughing and I started thinking about TB. I know I am crazy I am a nurse after all.) The rest of the day was great we went shopping ate a $15.00 hamburger and french fries. Went to the beach for a little.
Then back on the boat looking at the crystal blue waters and enjoying the amenities of the ship. I will post some pictures from my home computer. ( I am supposed to be working now.....well I was just eating lunch...so I will say this is lunch hour.)
Go for it if you have the chance it is an absolute wonderful experience!!!

Simple Woman's Daybook Entry

It's been a while since I've done a day book entry so I thought today was a good time.

Outside my window It is a beautiful Sunday morning. The sun is shining and the sky is a brilliant sky blue.

What am I wearing my night gown. It is 8:30 am on a Sunday morning.

What am I reading I am reading the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan. It is a very good book about God and His Love. It is a very good book. I actually just started it but s a very good book. I also love to listen to audio books. Right now I am listening to One Tuesday Morning by Karen Kingsbury. I absolutely love Karen Kingsbury. I am a new convert though. I started with the Baxter series. Karen can really bring you into the storyline. This book is a fictional account of 9/11 and it is really good.

What am I studying Right now I am studying about teaching strategies. But this will be my last class for the summer. Then in the fall I am changing schools. I have been praying about my future. The school I am in right now has been telling me they have a Nurse Practitioner program they are just tweaking it. So I was told by the school to start the core classes and I could change over to NP. Well now the core classes are over and I have been taking educator classes for the past couple semesters. I found an on-line school that does NP. I am transferring. So I will have the summer off.

What am I thinking I am thinking about a bunch of things right now. School is a big part of what I am thinking. I have to apply to this school. Go through the whole process again. That is frustrating. Kevin's job and the promotion he applied for. We are hearing rumors but we are not sure what they mean. If he gets this promotion there will be changes in our lives. I'll have to get into that deeper at another time.

What am I dreaming about I have a few things there to. Saturday is my birthday. I will be 50 and my hubby bought a cruise for us to celebrate. I am excited and dreaming about that. Kevin's possible promotion and the changes that will bring into our lives. I am always dreaming about a place where my kids, my grand kids, husband and I would all live close together and have family dinners once a week and spend holidays together.
