Its Hodge Podge Wednesday!!!!

1. It is officially fall here in North America...I realize not everyone who participates in the Hodgepodge lives in North America but if you do, what's your favorite memory of Summer 2011? If you're not in North America, what's your favorite memory of the season just ending on your side of the world?

My favorite memory is the last time I saw my Nana. She was so excited to see me and I had brought our dog over to see her. We went outside to the dog and had a wonderful visit. I loved and will always remember the look on her face when she saw me that day.

2. Your favorite nut? You know I mean the edible kind, right?

I love all kinds of nuts almonds, pistachios, walnuts.....I love them all!

3. What activity puts your sense of balance to the test?

Umm my sense of balance is always at a test. I am one of those clumsy people who could trip over their own feet. Lately my new work shoes have been tripping me up. I guess I shuffle when I walk. So the crocks stick to the floor. Haven't fallen yet but.....

4.How do you describe your sense of humor?

I never really thought about this.....I guess I have a dry sense of humor with a little quick with thrown in there every once in a while.

5. September 28 is National stupid question day. What's your stupid question?

I honestly sat here for a few minutes trying to think of a stupid question and could not but I am sure I will have one today....I always tell my patients no question is stupid if you do not know.

6. Roller skates, hula hoop, jump rope which activity do you like and yes you have to choose.

I love roller skating, although I am not very good at it...See question 3

7. What's your most favorite sentimental possession.

years before my grandmother died she ask me what I would want if she died. I told her I would want her sewing machine. It is a turn of the century Singer sewing machine, with a wooden cabinet and wheel to make the spindle go. I have so many memories of her sitting at that sewing machine mending our clothes or just sewing something. I told her this then and she made my mom clean it out that day so I could take it home with me...

Some one went to look at our house in SC. I am praying that they loved it and will make an offer soon. That way we can make an offer on a house we like here....I'll keep ya posted...Prayers appreciated! Thanks

Back in South Carolina for the weekend

Here we are back in our SC house for the weekend. We needed to pick up a few things and thought this was a good time. I feels kinda weird to be in the house after not being here for 2 months. Everything is as we left it. But there is no tv here now all systems have been turned off except water and electric. The house is still for sale the price has been dropped to $199,900.00 which is a very good price considering we just updated with hard wood floors, granite counter tops and new appliances.
We had a great dinner tonight with friends. Are going to our church tomorrow morning and having lunch with more friends.

The best part about the trip is we got to see our son and his family. We got in last night and spent the night and got as much loving from our grandsons as we could get in about 12 hrs. This is only a weekend trip, Kev has to go back to work on Tuesday night; I don't have to go back till Thursday but I need to get a new tire on my car.

I had a blow out in my front drivers side tire on my last day of work and that's when I realized I am really not in the south any more! After watching several construction workers walk by me I started to count 30!!! That's right 30 construction workers walked by me sitting in my car on the side of the road, front tire flat and spare sitting beside it! I know some of you might be saying I should have changed the tire my self, but I do not know how to use the jack. Sorry, I guess I am a girly girl. Then all the sudden I hear some one say "Mam, can I help you? Do you need someone to change a tire?" Yes I said and a nice gentile man changed my tire for me. About 5 minutes up the road I got a call from road side assistance asking if I still needed help. I told him no some had came to my rescue.

So thats that for now.... Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Hodge Podge Wednesday

1. Do you like chili? Red or white? Beans or no beans? Spice or no spice? Toppings?

I made chili tonight, or was it yesterday night, since it is 2:59 I am it was yesterday. I like my chili red with beans. We love mashed potatoes with it. Last night I made a huge baked potato with butter, chili, sour cream and cheddar cheese.....MMM!! I am getting hungry again just thinking about it.

2. Red-orange-gold...your favorite fall color?

I think the mixture of the gold, red and orange is what makes autumn so special. Actually living in South Carolina for the last 15 years I have missed this season. I am so excited to be here in Ohio and to experience this season in all its colorful splendor!!

3. Who did you idolize when you were growing up?

Well I idolized different people at different times in my life. In my young life I was a Donny Osmond fan! But my favorite guy was and actually I still like him today although don't swoon any more is David Cassidy.
In my teenage years I grew to love one of my favorite actors John Travolta! I just want to dance with him once before I die! LOL!

4. When was the last time you did something 'arts and craftsy'? Share please.
A few years ago I made a Christmas wreath with scraps of fabric of green, red, and gold. Decorated with a few ornaments. Its easy to make. May do it again some time.

5. What's a place that makes you really nervous?
Really tight places make me nervous because I think there is not enough air, and if there are more than me in the small place those others must be breathing up all my air!
6. Horseback riding...yay or nay (neigh?)
I have been horse baking riding and liked it. A long time ago. I would not mind doing it again.

7. What's your favorite cliche?
People in glass houses should not throw stones. I like that one and try to live by it.

8. Insert random thought here.
This weekend we are headed back to Charleston, SC to get some of our stuff. I am excited to see our friends and go to our old church!!!
