I almost forgot but I am here cause It's Hodge Podge Wednesday!

1. What's the last job you did that required elbow grease?

Well we recently moved. Had to scrub some kitchen floors and cabinets. Husb cleaned bathrooms (I hate cleaning those).

2. March Madness, aka the men's Division I basketball championship, is nearing an end...what sort of 'madness' has your house seen this month?

Still have boxes to unpack got husbs to hang some family photos in living room; yeah!!! But still lots to do. A new adventure in every box! ;)

3. What's your favorite shop for browsing?

I found the Hobby Lobby here in Ohio. Have never been to one before. I LOVE THIS STORE!! Actually I could browse forever in book stores too!

 4. Is there ever a time when giving up makes sense?

I think giving up makes sense when it comes to my will and God's will. I have had times in my life when I have tried in vain to make things happen and they did not happen that is because it was not God's will at that time.
Also as a medical person I think a person knows when their life is over. They know they have fought the last battle and are tired. They know when it is time to give up and go home to eternity.

 5. What's a song you love that contains the name of a city, state or country in its title?

I am a huge Eagles fan with that being said Hotel California is one of my favorite songs and my ring tone on my phone. I also like California Dreaming by The Mama's and The Papa's

6. When did you first begin using a computer?

It was in 1997. We got our first computer from a friend the husbs worked with and I've been hooked ever sine!

7. Did you buy girl scout cookies this year? What's your favorite?

I did not buy girl scout cookies this year just because I forgot. My nieces were selling them and my sister in law was not aggressive enough.  My favorites are the Tagalogs I love that peanut butter and chocolate.

Yesterday my classes started on line for my Master's Degree in Nursing. I will be doing a dual major in education and informatics. I will be on this computer almost continuously for the next two years as if I am not on here enough already!

Hodge Podge Wednesday

1. The first day of spring is here-do you enjoy working in the yard? Weeding, raking, mowing, planting...your favorite springtime garden chore? How about your least favorite?

I don't mind raking but I am really not the garden person. See I am a germaphobe and do not like to get dirt under my nails or touch dirty stuff. I am not really crazy I am a nurse so I have to keep my hands clean all the time. It just planted itself in my b rain and can't get dirty hands. I do help from time to time but have to wear gloves.

2. What puts a spring in your step?

I love the spring weather. I love sunshine!! I am generally in a good mood on sunny days!
With that being said my family is very important to me and can always put a spring in my step.

 3. Describe a time when you had to spring into action.

Well as I said above I am a nurse so I have to spring into step at various times. The one that comes to mind was a gentleman with head and neck cancer. He had several surgeries on his neck and had a tracheotomy (a whole in his neck to breath). I was training another nurse.  She went in the room to suction his trach (tracheotomy) which we have to do periodically to clear the mucous from his airway. She called me to the room because there was blood in his sputum (snot). He coughed when I came in the room and started bleeding much more. Apparently his surgical area around his carotid artery had come loose and he had to go back to emergency surgery.

4. We're having carrots for dinner...would you prefer yours raw or cooked?

I am not a big carrot fan but I do eat them raw and cooked.

5. Do you take the shampoos and other sundries from your hotel room when its time to check out?

Only if I have opened them. I do not like clutter.

6. What's the most enjoyable team or club you've belonged to and what was it that made it so?

I have belonged to the Oncology Nursing Society for most of my career. I have held offices in my local chapter in SC and plan on joining the local chapter here too. This is an organization of cancer nurses which helps educate oncology (cancer) nurses about treatments and updates in our field. In fact I am headed to New Orleans for national conference in May. First time there I am excited.

 7. Is cloning a sign of progress?

Yes it is progress but why do we want to do it?
Is it just because we can then that is not ethical.

I got a kitten to help with the field mice. I wanted her to be an inside outside cat but inside she has litter box issues. She does use it but also uses everywhere else if there is one tired in the box.

This makes me sad. I wanted to keep her in as much as possible to cuddle with me. She loves to cuddle.

Almost forgot my Hodge Podge!!

1. St. Patrick's Day will be celebrated this coming Saturday. What's a favorite article of clothing you own that contains a touch o' the green?

Don't really think I have many green pieces of clothing but I do have a green sweater I like. My favorite articles to wear are my emeralds. I have a ring, necklace and earrings. I tried to send a pic from my phone but not cooperating tonight o well!

2. What's a favorite 'green space' in the town, state or province where you live?

I might be busy but can't miss my Hodge Podge!

1. Did March come in like a lion or was it something less ferocious in your neck of the woods?

March came in wanting to be a lion but could not make it. The first couple days were kinda cold but now today it was almost 70! I had the windows down and sunroof open as I drove down the road.

2. Speaking of lions, which one's your film favorite...The Cowardly Lion (Wizard of Oz), Mufasa (The Lion King), Elsa (Born Free) or Alex (Madagascar). You might notice I left Aslan off the list. Including him would have made this question way too easy for many of you.

I have always LOVED the cowardly lion from the Wizard of OZ. I am such a fan of that movie. I once made one of my son's friends watch it with us because I told him he wasn't a real American if he had not seen it. Surprisingly he did watch it; and now laughs about me making him watch it. I have to say my absolute favorite character was always the scare crow though.

                                                                                                    

3. What's your favorite spot from which to view the sunrise or sunset?

 

I love sun set and sun rise on the beach the colors are amazing!

                                            

4. To what extent is knowledge power and to what extent is truth power? What's the difference?

 

Knowledge is power because it helps you to move above yourself and reach out to others in ways you never thought you could have. I feel knowledge also needs to come with wisdom. They are two different things. Wisdom helps you know when and where your knowledge is appropriate to use.

Truth is power because it is always the best policy and you can never forget if you tell the truth. Lies are a web of deceit once you start you can not stop because you need another to cover the last and on and on.

What's the difference between knowledge and truth.....hmmmm....I do not know how to answer that.

5. What's something peculiar you've seen recently?

 

The first thing that comes to mind is the top of my dining room table after the movers put it together. It is a mess of scratches that were not there when I left it! It looks like a littler of cats were fighting on it! Luckily they do have insurance and there is a file claimed!  I know that's not peculiar but its all I could think about right now.

7. What's your strongest sense?

 

Smell. This is so funny because we got a new kitten who does not know to cover her stuff in the litter box and an old dog who constantly has gas. Both are in the room with me now and BOY!! is my nose getting a work out!!!!LOL!!!

I just enrolled in University of Phoenix to get my master's degree ! I know as if I do not have enough going on right now!!! I must be CRAZY!!!
